I already fell in love with the first two books in the Poppy War trilogy so of course I went into this with rather high expectations. Overall, this wasn't disappointing. I really enjoy Kuang's more gritty approach to fantasy and Rin is one of the best protagonists I've ever come across. Andthat continues to be true for this book. I loved how, instead of exploring the entire world like it could have, the trilogy stayed more contained and focused on the characters which is something I don't see t
