Treasurable

The majority of these performances antedate Arrau's Philips discography dating from the early 1960s.

Grandioso!

This wonderful collection of studio recordings supplies a rich portrait of the \"middle Arrau\", painted just before the starting of his great Philips period.

Despite a highly successful international career that spanned nearly eight decades and included thousands of concert appearances and an extensive catalogue of recordings, Claudio Arrau never seemed to achieve the kind of popularity with the American public that Artur Rubinstein or Vladimir Horowitz did.
